Overview

This is a proposal for a special session on new opportunities and challenges in Vocational Education and Training (VET). The latest serious and important economic, social, and anthropological challenges, such as the global health crisis, the European energy crisis, but also the anthropological crisis from wars, the migration flows, and in general the phenomena of the impoverishment of entire social strata bring forth the need for a better-structured, and more broadly and outward-looking VET, that will use the latest Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The action plans for youth employment in many parts of the world intend to better link education with work, upgrade Vocational Education and Training, boost apprenticeship opportunities, and broaden career guidance that is offered to young people. Vocational Education and Training policies can play a key role in various fields such as energy, digitalization, digital information transfer, learning, and teaching issues.

In this special session, we are looking for papers addressing, but not limited, to the following topics:

  • Building Energy Management and Technological Knowledge.
  • Electromobility and electric cars: a new transition.
  • Digital Tools for Electronic Data Interchange in Vocational Schools.
  • Massive Deliverance for quality technological education.
  • Technically Demanding Subjects and Blended Learning as a viable alternative in VET.
  • Serious video games for teaching and learning.
  • Provision of effective and efficient apprenticeships in VET
